IMAGO | How to trim the IMAGO around vents, outlets, etc?

There are several different ways you can think about trimming around obstacles.

  1. If the obstacle is actually stopping you from installing, then you need to make the cuts or trim in order to complete the install.
  2. For some obstacles like outlets, you can make some of those cuts after you have the IMAGO setup and you're doing some final cleanup.

#1)
This obstacle will stop installation, so when you get to the obstacle, if you want to get the cleanest trim; measure the obstacle, mark the IMAGO, take the IMAGO down and make very clean cuts.

#3)
The two obstacles in IMAGE #3 do not stop the installation, because both are under IMAGO. So after install, find the obstacle by pushing your hand to find the outlet, vent, etc.  Then lightly mark the IMAGO with pencil cut lines. Use a ruler or a straight edge to get very clean lines. Then be very careful and cut out the space as shown.
